Stuart had no idea that Nicky was as tipsy as she was. She was doing a good job of walking normally, although she remained abnormally silent. This was entirely unusual for her, and he wondered if he had done something to irritate her. He knew that when he was bothered about something he clammed up, but he didn't say anything. He just continued to walk on in silence with her.
They were in a part of Cat's Claw that he hadn't known existed. It was swampy and he wrinkled his nose at the acrid smell. It was interesting, though. He took note of the unusual plants and trees and wondered if even the birds here were different. There were none to be seen right now, though, because it was evening. The walkway was dark due to the setting sun and the canopy of trees, although they could still see the pathway before them. They hadn't encountered many people before and now there were even less -- just the occasional jogger or walker. Most of the time they were alone as they walked on, which was exactly how Stuart wanted it.
Nicky stopped and answered his question about where it ended up and asked if he wanted to continue. He did, but didn't move as she began walking away from him. He stood watching her, a smile playing on his face, wondering if she'd notice he hadn't moved with her. She had gone a short ways before he called, "Where are you going?" She was so funny. He'd been walking with her all along, and now suddenly she didn't realize he wasn't with her.
Stuart walked up to her, still smiling. He'd been waiting to be alone with her all night. Pulling her off to the side of the walkway, his smile faded as he gazed at her, his desire evident in his eyes. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he leaned forward and kissed her.
After their quick make-out session in the cab, he'd been wanting to kiss her and take his time kissing her. He held her in his arms as he kissed her gently, feeling her lips against his, listening to the sound of their breathing. He opened his mouth slightly as he held her close, and waited to see what she would do next.

Stuart had done nothing to upset her, but it was a good thing he hadn't asked or she would have shown just how tipsy she was. The walkway had grown windy, so that people walking towards you were difficult to see, however it was nice to be alone with Stuart, something that was actually very rare. In her home she had to worry about Anne, Patrick and her grandmother. At his house was Zippy. Here, besides the occasional jogger, no one was around.
Nicky had continued on from her spot, thinking it best to just continue on their way. However, his voice called out to her and she had to stop suddenly, nearly falling over the rail when she noticed he was no longer against her. She looked around for a moment, completely lost. And then walked back to him. Rubbing her eyes as she did. "What happened?" Was all she asked, unsure why he had stopped.
As he came in contact with her she was pulled to the side, where a tree encrouched over the walkway and hid them from oncoming joggers. Her eyes danced as she looked up to him and he closed the gap to kiss her. Immediately her arms flung around him, without hesitation. Rubbing his shoulders and causing the shirt to move as she did so. Several kisses in she felt his lips part, and her own mouth followed suit, taking their kiss that step further and deepening it just a little more. Sighing into his mouth, the taste of his ale mixed with the overwhelming taste of her whiskey. Fingers moved up again to rustle through his hair. There was no chance she was going to pull away now, it had been what she wanted and now put into the kiss she couldn't back away.

Stuart continued to kiss Nicky, feeling her respond to him. He had his hands on her waist as he kissed her slowly; he didn't want to push too far, too fast. He loved the way she ran her hands across his shoulders and his back. As much as he might have wanted to move his hands to other places, he wouldn't. Nicky could do whatever she wanted with her hands, but for his part his would remain still.
He opened his mouth and she followed suit. He could taste the whiskey there but didn't mind it at all. His little drunken princess. He moved his arms up as he pulled her closer, the two completely caught up in their embrace in the shadow of the trees. He took his time with her, not kissing her harder or more passionately, but savoring the way she felt in his arms and the taste of her lips against his. She was entirely lovely and delicious and he felt like he would never get enough of her.
He pulled his mouth away and slowly kissed her jawline to her ear to the spot on her neck below her ear. He wanted to know all of her, yet he would be content with just her lips for tonight. His eyes were still closed as he lost himself in her, feeling the wind blow her hair over his face, thinking of nothing but the two of them lost together.

Nicky was not going to jump the gun. If Stuart's hands were going to remain relatively safe then so were Nicky's. Her hands kept in the region of his shoulders and through his hair. She did not go too far low, not sure what her hands were capable of, especially in this state. Nicky's hands continued to travel across his broad shoulders, massaging the flesh beneath the crisp buttoned shirt. Eyes heavily lidded closed at the tempting kiss that drove her absolutely wild.
Her skin had flushed with the passion that rose and surged within her. Tasting his lips that were sweet and had that stout aftertaste. Soon she was pulled closer, his drunken princess, and then his lips broke free, her mind foggy and wanting more. Though she was really driven wild as he kissed along her jaw line and found himself kissing that spot at her neck right below her ear. A heavy sigh left her lips and she nearly fell into him, weak kneed, clutching to his shoulders as she became lost in that kiss.
Nicky moved her own lips down his bearded jaw and to his neck, pulling at the collar of his shirt so she could kiss the warm flesh that could be reached. But soon voices pulled her out of that intense feeling and she pulled away. Straightening herself, she pushed her hair back and curled her hand into his. "Come on you. Before some auror on patrol rights us a ticket for being too affectionate." She said softly, half joking. The new rules that were constantly coming out were more ridiculus then the last, she was only waiting for there to be a law about being affectionate. She knew it was going to be coming up soon. It was difficult to walk away from their little hiding spot, but she knew if she didn't she wouldn't want to leave later either.

Stuart felt like he was holding Nicky up as he kissed her neck. He knew by her reaction that what he was doing was driving her wild and he wasn't about to stop. Her soft moan sounded in his ear from deep inside of her, and he tightened his hold on her so she didn't fall. Her hands roamed his shoulders and through his hair and he breathed in the scent of her skin in the cool evening air.
He stopped what he was doing as she turned and began kissing his neck. His eyes rolled back as he closed them and he let her go, loving the feel of her mouth trailing down his neck. She pulled back his shirt to get more of him and he didn't stop her. If they had been in a more private place he would have felt that he was reaching a point of no return and so would have made her stop, but they were out where they could be discovered. They couldn't have gone any further than what they were doing right now.
But goddamn, he didn't want her to stop. He wanted her to keep going until they were both satisfied and exhausted, but she suddenly pulled away. At first he stood there, leaning forward as he had been holding her with his head spinning, not understanding why she was suddenly gone. Then he heard the voices. He blinked a few times to comprehend what she was saying to him. People were there. And she was smiling at him and taking his hand and something about being ticketed and.... what?
Stuart took in a deep breath as he tried to regain his senses. She lead him away from the hiding spot and he followed. It wasn't entirely easy for him to walk at first but he managed, and soon he was himself again, albeit very quiet.
He didn't say anything as they walked along. He let Nicky lead the way as he had no idea where this boardwalk ended up. He hoped it wasn't some crazy enchanted thing, where you ended up in some other magical place. He wouldn't have put it past the people around here to have something like that. But Nicky had told him that it would end up in the park and they could catch a taxi there.
Sure enough, it did. They were in O'Leary Park before they knew it. There was a taxi stand there and after waiting for about twenty minutes one was ready and they got in. Stuart remained quiet, simply putting his arm around Nicky as they rode home.

Stuart was indeed holding Nicky up. She had a weakness for her that particular spot and had literally gone weak as his sculpted lips mastered over her neck and sent her dizzy into him. It was the perfect evening. The winds of change lightly upon them in the cool breeze that was holding onto the summer and yet giving signs of the start of fall. Nicky continued to kiss his warm flesh, in comparison to the cool breeze. Breathing in his personal soaps and cologne that made Stuart, Stuart. Her lips glided along his skin from his neck to his shoulder, fingers had gripped the material trying to pull it away as much as possible.
But it had been Nicky that first heard the voices. She did not know who was walking towards them, but it was apparent that someone was heading right into their direction. Her steps had been staggered when they first left their hiding spot. Nearly running into the voices, an elderly couple that gave the two a heavy inquiry before they continued on their journey.
Again silence fell between them and Nicky had taken hold of Stuart's hand, holding onto him tight as they continued upon the boardwalk. As they traveled closer to the park she could see the stars through the opening of trees and the dark blue sky filtered with white twinkling stars that were so high up in the sky. In this silence the two had made fairly good time to the park and then up into the taxi ride. Immediately she sat down next to him and placed her head upon his shoulder. She had become rather accustomed to that spot. He was comfortable to lean against, like a teddy bear, but Stuart was even better then an old stuffed bear.
Nicky lifted her eyes to meet his and smiled. "I almost forgot. I made a new batch of eclairs and I need my taste tester." She said softly leaning up and kissing his lips gently. "Are you up for the challenge?" She asked, not getting enough of him. Already trying to get him to stay with her just a little bit longer.

Stuart was quiet, not because he was upset or nervous, but because he just didn't know what to say. His mind and his body were trying to recover from what he and Nicky had been doing. He knew if they were alone at his place doing that he would have taken her to bed. He was ready to go right there on the boardwalk; only the fact that other people could come by any second kept him from taking it further. He had thought that if he kept his hands to himself that he would be able to handle it. He'd also thought that Nicky could do what she wanted and he'd be able to handle that, too. He was wrong. He had been about to unbutton his shirt so she could get to him better, and he was going to slip his hands under her shirt as well. It was only the intrusion of an elderly couple that kept him from doing that.
It was tough being out on a date after you'd already been married. How do you come back from that?
Stuart had been sorting all of this out in his mind on the walk to the park and in the carriage. He knew that what he had with Nicky wasn't some one-night stand kind of thing. He loved being with her and wanted to spend as much time with her as he could, and not for a quick tumble between the sheets but in every possible way. As junior high as it sounded, he wanted to be her boyfriend -- her only boyfriend. He wanted Nicky all to himself.
He didn't say anything, though, as the carriage rolled along. He simply enjoyed the feel of her pressed up against him, her head on his shoulder. He felt like he could take on the world when she was with him like this.
She leaned up and kissed him, and he felt the heat behind her kiss. It was there, just below the surface, waiting for the both of them.
"More eclairs?" he asked, pulling back and smiling at her. "Oui, I am up for the challenge. Bring it on, baby."

Nicky had not been in the same situation as Stuart. The last lover she had taken was back in Meadowsweet and the two had broken things off way before her arrest. The guy had traveled north bound in an attempt to do something up there with the government, wanting to overtake it. And while in theory that sounded like a great plan, sadly Nicky knew it would never work. Even her freedom thinking wouldn't allow her to be so bold. The two had not left each other bitterly but more in a graceful goodbye.
So Stuart was new, and her dry spell was taking its toll as she thought it was taking its own toll on Stuart. It had been several months for the both of them, since she had had her lover and since Ainne had been alive. Of course she was not used to just being married and going home and doing what you wanted with your spouse without the need to eat, or have discussion or anything of the sort. Nicky enjoyed the dating portion. It was the most fun in her mind. They would build up with the tension, there was lots of discussion to let each other grasp how compatible they'd be with one another. And of course there was the first kiss, and then the first time they made out, and then the first time they went further. It was all those firsts in the relationship that Nicky just loved. And right now she was savoring their kisses, every last one of them.
Eyes danced, looking at him, watching his expression as the carriage rocked back and forth lightly. She was glad to hear that she had a willing participant in the eclair eating. And laughed softly when he had called her 'baby'. Such a silly word. "Well good, because I think you are just going to die when you taste it." Nicky was far too happy knowing that Stuart was going to stay, if just for the eclair.
As the carriage continued to its destination, and she saw the familiar house coming closer to them she looked at him. "We should head through the back. Don't need to wake everyone up by going through that squeaky front door." She said readying herself to get out of the carriage and be on her way to the backyard. The eclair waited as well as their goodnight kiss.

If Nicky was promising death upon tasting one of these eclairs, then they had better be the best eclairs ever created. He could hardly wait. The one she had for him last week was pretty damn special, even if the chocolate was a little off. He imagined that she had corrected her mistake this week and he was in for the dessert of his life. In spite of his heavy dinner, the thought of something sweet was nearly making him salivate.
The carriage had reached the house and Nicky suggested they go in the back. This was fine with him, of course. Anything to avoid the black hellsbane. As they made their way around back he heard Lucy whinny. He went over to the paddock where she stood to say hello as he rubbed the spot between her eyes and patted her neck. "Good girl," he whispered to her, patting her neck one more time before turning to follow Nicky into the house. He was going to have to give Lucy a carrot or an apple tonight.
The kitchen was dark again as everyone else had retired for the evening, either to bed or out to the living room. Stuart wasn't sure where anyone was, but he was happy that he was alone with Nicky in the kitchen. He took a seat at the kitchen table and watched her move around as she got out the eclair to set in front of him. Not so gracefully this time but that was probably because she still had the whiskey in her system. The eclair that she was bringing over looked great and he was feeling spoiled. "You know, I'm going to get fatter if you keep this up," he joked. "I've already got a gut, you're just making it bigger."

Nicky had led Stuart out of the carriage and around the back, opening up the little garden gate as she led him to the kitchen door. Stopping as she watched Stuart say hello to Lucy. Continuing on into the kitchen, she got the eclair prepared while he took a seat at the kitchen table. Nicky like last week, had gotten out a plate and placed the eclair on it along with a spoon. Walking over to him, her mind concentrated on keeping on her feet. No she was not as graceful tonight, the whiskey had given her more sea legs and her body moved a little without the need to go anywhere.
Setting it in front of him she moved and took a seat next to him as he joked about the possibility of an expanding waistline. Nicky only laughed and leaned in to kiss his neck. "I am not." She said happily. "You swim, and you work outside, you need food to keep up that strength of yours." She insisted and ran a hand through his hair. "Now try it." She insisted, and had placed a hand upon his leg waiting anxiously for him to try the eclair. Hoping that it tasted as good as the customers had exclaimed. But he was going to be the real taste tester. She wanted to know what he thought.

Stuart gave Nicky a wry smile and put his arm along the back of her chair as he leaned back. "Food, yes, but come on. Eclairs? Are eclairs food?" He was teasing her. He wasn't at all as ungrateful as he sounded -- he would eat eclairs every day if she made them for him. He picked up the spoon as she placed her hand on his leg, and he felt a pulling inside as she touched his thigh. "But first, this."
He leaned over and kissed her, a lingering kiss that held all the heat that was pent up inside of him. The kiss lasted for several minutes as he lost himself in it. He brought his free hand up behind her and wound his fingers in her hair, not pulling on her hair but gently cradling her head with his hand. He opened his mouth, his tongue sliding across her lips and against her tongue. He still held the spoon in his other hand; it was the only thing keeping him grounded right now. Other than his mouth he didn't move. He felt that if he turned to her his hands would start roaming. He was getting carried away -- his kiss was becoming more passionate, more forceful, and a low humming sounded in his chest. He knew when he started making noises that he was reaching the point of no return, so he ended the kiss, trailing off with other, smaller kisses before pulling back and smiling at her. He could feel the blood beating in his face.
Stuart turned to the eclair and took a deep breath. "Okay, what was I doing again?" he asked, teasing. "Oh right, the eclair. Okay, A plus for presentation. It looks great. No heathen whipped cream this time, so good girl." He paused for a minute and looked over at Nicky. "Ready for me to go on?"

"Perhaps just a sinful treat." Nicky had offered Stuart since he wasn't considering eclairs food. Her smile had not faded even as he had teased her about the dessert. But as he leaned in her mind completely turned focus from the teasing into the kiss. Her body responded to the kiss immediately, her other hand had lifted and carefully touched his chest, as she moved in just a little more. Feeling his fingers wind through her hair and gently tug and separate tendrils, sending a tingling sensation from her head down to her spine. Her mouth had opened flicking her whiskey tongue to taste his own, and to taste those sweet but stout lips. Her fingers had started to knead and massage his thigh, curling in and then relaxing at his thigh while she was so overtaken by the intimate kiss.
It lasted for several minutes but when he pulled away she had nearly whimpered, not wanting it yet to end. So ready to move further along. However, she leaned back, giving them both breathing space. Her cheeks were even more flushed, and it wasn't from the alcohol but from Stuart. Her hand removed from his chest and pressed her cool fingers to her fiery cheek attempting to calm herself.
She looked down at the eclair, nodding to him absently. "Yes, go on then." She said softly. "Try it." Her voice sounded strained, the effort difficult of having to make sure that she remain within the boundaries. Not wanting to take it too far, as this was her grandmothers kitchen and in theory she could walk through the door at any moment, startling the both of them. Instead she looked at the eclair. "If you don't eat it, then I will." She finally teased hoping that would get him on the track to trying the eclair and her mind having the ability to become straight once again.

Stuart's head was still spinning from their kiss. The last thing he wanted to do was stop or pull back but they were in the kitchen. It wasn't that late; other people could walk in at any moment. But when he thought about the way she tasted and her hand massaging his thigh and how aroused he was right now, he just wanted to keep going. The eclair sat before him and he went through the pretense of examining it, but really he just wanted more of Nicky.
He finished his speech about the presentation of the eclair and glanced over at her to see if she wanted him to continue. Her face was flush and she was breathing hard. She wanted this as much as he did.
The hell with the eclair.
Stuart put the spoon down and turned to Nicky, pulling her to him and kissing her again. He didn't care any more. It was too difficult to stop himself, and really, why the hell should he? He knew at this point that Nicky wasn't a rebound girl and hopefully she knew it, too. His arm that had been behind her on the chair was now around her shoulders and his other hand was moving up her thigh to her hip. He put everything he had into this kiss, every bit of desire he had in him was behind it. He felt her moving with him and he simply ached inside.
He moved to the spot below her ear that he knew she liked and kissed it with his mouth open. "Come out to the barn with me," he gasped. "I promise I won't do anything you don't want."

Nicky was staring down at the eclair, eyes not daring to look back at Stuart. But then, she noticed that he had put the spoon down. Her eyes lifted and she looked at him surprised. "What?" She was about to ask him if something was the matter, or if something was wrong. She just didn't now, but instead he pulled her to him. She had nearly been pulled from the chair as the kissed once again. Her hands had returned to the familiar areas she already knew. His chest, that beating heart that pushed and thumped behind her hand, and his shoulder. Holding on and gently her fingers now massaged the skin there as she leaned forward as much as possible without righting herself form the chair.
His hands that were usually always touching her hair or her shoulders had now crept down her thigh and climbed its way up her hip, her skirt skimming up her thigh as his hand glided and pulled at the material. Her eyes closed, lost in the moment with Stuart, lost in the kiss that was so tempting and had her head spinning and her heart beating hard and fast. Her breath came in awkward bursts as she pushed through the sensual and intense kiss.
And then he continued to drive her wild. Those lips moved away from her own aching lips. And found themselves nestled against her neck. Suddenly she gasped for air, feeling it being sucked out of her from that spot that he was starting to know so well. His words were simple and yet had a lot of meaning behind it. No, he wouldn't push, but she wasn't sure she would be able to stop herself either.
She pulled away from him, gasping for the air that was around them. As if she had been holding her breath under water for ages. "Stuart. Are you sure?" She asked, softly. Her fingers pushed through his hair, turning into a favorite pastime of hers, searching those eyes of his. The alcohol had started to wear off, and she knew she'd still want him tomorrow, this wasn't the alcohol making her do this, nor was it the fact she hadn't been with someone in ages. No, It was Stuart that put her into this position and made her feel all upside down and excited and about to explode. She just wanted to be sure both were thinking in their right minds.

Was he sure? She couldn't tell?
Stuart's mouth was on Nicky's neck, kissing and licking. His breathing was heavy as he slid his hand down and under her skirt along the outside of her thigh. He nearly laughed when she asked if he was sure, but he knew what she meant. She didn't want him to make any decisions in the throes of passion, but it was too late for that now.
"God, yes, I'm sure," he gasped as he went back to kissing her lips. He moaned behind their kiss and pulled away. She was beautiful. Her heavy-lidded eyes and lips still puckered from their kiss were making him crazy for her.
Stuart stood and took Nicky's hand as he quickly lead her from the kitchen and outside to the barn. The lights were already on in there as the chickens moved around to avoid the intrusion. It was cool outside but the barn was warm enough, and Stuart climbed the ladder first and turned to help Nicky up. He pulled her to him again and kissed her, his hands gliding up and down her back and along her sides. "We don't have to do anything more than kiss," he whispered against her lips in spite of what he was sure she could feel pressing against her. "Just stay here with me where it's just the two of us and we don't have to worry about anyone walking in."
