Here is the General Timeline for Cat's Claw and Magical Ireland. This is simply offered to give you a loose framework of what has been going on in the city and in Magical Ireland over the last few years.

1965-69~ A steady rise in activity by Dark Wizarding groups both in Ireland and abroad. Crime waves are on the rise. People have begun to go missing again, especially in Cat’s Claw and Newgrange Proper.

1965-69~
The entire Magical Irish economy continues to slump causing financial fallout down to the common family level. Many are struggling to make ends meet.

1965-66~
The Social Endeavorist Party begins to push against a wave of traditionalism that favors not all the Irish, but the elite of Magical Ireland. Their candidate for office is Miriam Donnelly, a long time member of the An Taiosigh’s Council of Twelve.  She was endorsed by the former Prime Minister, William James Hagan, also of the Social Endeavorist Party.

The people of Magical Ireland are looking for change, afraid of another seven years of the same. While Hagan was not a bad Prime Minister, he did little to steer the country away from their current crisis. He seemed ill-equipped to deal with the rising violence rearing up in cities throughout Ireland.

1965-66~
The Magical Royalists begin a campaign to stir patriotism in the lower classes. Their campaign is based on the idea that Ireland and its magic are in jeopardy by the influx of immigrants to the country.

Magical Royalists believe that Magical Ireland should be purged of any non-Irish wizards. They believe the actual magic of the Irish people is elite and not to be mingled with outsiders of any sort. They feel that immigrants have cost Irish wizards employment opportunities and adequate housing.  The Magical Royalists blame immigrants the lowered standards of education and for creating a burden on the common Irish tax-paying citizen by having to provide more teachers.

They believe that Magical Ireland's patriotism must be revived.  Marriages between the pure Irish wizards and outsiders is discouraged.

The sagging economy aids their slanted campaign by offering the immigrants as a scapegoat for the ills of the country and offering a solution of Irish for Ireland only. The Royalists begin to gain favor in the lower classes as they begin the pre-elections.

The Royalists candidate is Anlon Brennan of the famed Brennan Clan. This ancient wizarding family has been in Cat’s ]Claw since its inception and Brennan name is listed as one of the city’s founders.

1966-67~ Recession hits Magical Ireland. Many lose jobs and homes as the economy seems to spiral down.

In Cat’s Claw, crime waves have sprung up all over the city and the city lacks the resources to deal with it all.  Murders are suddenly a part of life once again and many are concerned that the Dray is on the rise once more. This band of dark wizards had been driven back ten years ago, many of its members sent to prison but none naming its leader.

Some in the city suspected Kevin Brennan, youngest of the Brennan clan, to be this group leader. This was rarely spoken aloud as the Brennan’s reach and power in this community was great.

1966-68~ The Guild of Raven begins to call together its members for strategic planning meetings to deal with what they believe is the return of the Dray. The Guild is a highly secretive group of wizards with a history dating back to the fifteenth century. They are now concerned about how they will keep what is charge to them safe—one of these items being The Black Pullet.

August 29, 1966~
The Black Pullet is lost from control of the Guild of Raven in a battle with the Dray in the jungles of Tambopata-Candamo in Peru. Several are killed on both sides in this battle as well. The book was said to be damaged, in this battle and that is cried out. Many of the book’s pages were scattered out across the thick jungles and the once the Guild had driven back the Dray, they retrieved what pages they could and the Dray escaped with the remainder of the book.

Those who know the book, know it will try to make itself whole again until its destiny is full-filled. The Dray may have acquired more than they bargained for.

September 1967~
Forty-seven year old, Anlon Brennan, eldest brother of the Brennan clan, wins the office of Prime Minister for the Magical Royalist Party and swiftly begins to fill council seats with his own choice picks as he implements his new government and its edicts.

October 1967~ Prime Minister Brennan places a ban on furthur immigration.

November 1967~
The Citizen Act of Magical Ireland is enacted.  Legal Irish born residences of Magical Ireland must file papers with the An Taoisigh where they are issued and ID. Anyone who refuses may no longer own property of work within Irish borders.

December 1967~
The Non~Irish sales tax is implemented. All those without proper Irish ID's (ie: immigrants or longtime non-Irish residents) must pay a sales tax of 15% on all goods and services.

January 1968~
Kevin Brennan appointed Commissioner of the Carrick Guard, replacing Joesph Miner, a non-Irish.

March 1968~
The Non-Irish Property Recall Act is implemented. This Act gives the government the right to take back any property they deem had been aquired under false pretenses. This includes homes, business and livestock. This act is quickly ammended in late March to include the repossession of property by any non-Irish who is arrested for a crime.

April- May 1968~ Magical Ireland's High Coucil Courts have been swamped with cases brought by Non-Irish who have been had their property seized under questionable circumstances. Many are awarded their property back much to the dismay of the those who support the Magical Royalist party.

June 1968~ Two high ranking members of the High Council Courts assigned to oversee property cases are found dead in Newgrange Proper. The deaths are blamed on a family of immigrants whose case did not go well. They are sent to Ireland's notorious prison, Hackballs Cross.

July 1968~ Two new High Council Court members of the Royalist party are appointed to the courts. The immigrants who bring suit are no longer winning as many cases.

Crime is on the rise in all cities now. Immigrants are thought to be behind most of it and are arrested, tried and convicted with incredible speed.

August 1968~ The Irish Magical Education Protection Act is put in place. This act requires non-Irish to be excluded from certain classes that offer Irish magic theory and practice. It also requires parents of non-Irish children to pay an educational tax for each child enrolled in school. Many cannot afford this tax and are forced to remove their children from school.

September 1968~ School begins at Whisper's Academy with fewer students, since many cannot afford the new tax. The Irish Citizen Protection of Heritage Act is enacted. This gives aurors special powers to search the residence of any person where suspicious activity has been reported. It requires no warrant and to detain any person who is suspected of subversive activity against Ireland's government.

Reed Shellgren offers scholarships to families in need.

October 1968~ Two families are found murdered in the farmlands of Cat's Claw. Their bodies show signs of unfamiliar magical attack. While this is not reported in the paper, the story leaks out to the public and becomes the gossip in town. Fear is growing that it is not simply immigrants behind the crime wave.

November-February 1968~ Kidnappings are on the rise throughout Magical Ireland. Missing persons cases are at an all time high in Cat's Claw and other communities. New aurors are being called on board to handle the overwhelming workload. Some of those kidnapped and missing are found, but more often than not they are dead. Those that survive have had their minds swept. This is not reported by the papers but is known about town via gossip.

March 1969~
Our board is beginning at this point. It's Spring and yet for all the blossoming happening in nature, their is a heavy darkness hanging over Magical Ireland as people adjust to the new reign of the Brennan clan.
