To Prospective Members,

This roleplay board is like many others you have likely been on as well as being different in many ways. The culture of roleplays seems to shift in varied directions as boards try to attract new members. This board is no different in that aspect.

Cat's Claw has gone through many creative changes and will undoubtly continue to do so. We like to play with new ideas and we like to do our best to bring new writers/members into the story at large. We are not entirely original in that we borrow that magic of Harry Potter. We are original in that fact that this is all we borrow. We have taken the magic and placed it among a unique cast of original characters in a small city in Ireland in 1965.

The administrators of this board are all adults. The world we have created here and the stories that appeal to us are adult in nature as well. This simply means that we tackle issues with our characters that might be going on in a person's life once they have matured into their twenties and older. ((see Rules and Rules on Erotica to know what is allowed))

That being said, know that you are also allowed to play a student at Whispers Academy. We are not a school RPG but we do welcome that element to the Cat's Claw community. The age range would cover from 11-17 and you would board at the school or attend day classes and return home at the end of the school day depending on the arrangement made by your parents or guardians.

The writers that have joined us are usually able to find interesting paths and storylines for their charcter(s) to take simply by taking chances. That is a big part of getting yourself in motion on any board. They take chances with roleplaying with new people and they are able to roll with the crazy changes that our board throws at them in the name of plot. (We do have devices in place to pull the rug out from characters at times and see what they do with it)

The administrators here are not elitist. On the contrary, we are very approachable and will usually find a way to write with newcomers on the board. We are not clicky because that doesn't serve the goal of our board.

The world we created is a city named Cat's Claw. You may feel a little out of place when you first arrive and become a writer here. That is how it feels in any new place. Just know that you are welcome and that you can PM any admin for help in getting yourself situated.
